The Raven

Prophet!” said I, “thing of evil!—prophet still, if bird or devil!
By that Heaven that bends above us—by that God we both adore—
Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn,
It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore—
Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore.
Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”
— The Raven, Edgar Allan Poe

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!
This is officially my favorite day of the year-- and NOT because of the candy. I have always adored Halloween for the scent of mystery in the air; the inexplicable feeling that some magical presence is in the air. Dressing up is also a natural love of mine, and this year I went as the embodiment of my favorite poem ever, written by Edgar Allan Poe, The Raven. I am so fascinated by psychological thrillers and how our own minds can be more powerful and more terrifying than any outside substance-- a major theme in Allan's work.
I of course wore a beautiful all black look with my favorite party dress from Nasty Gal and my trusty leather jacket + combat platforms. This fantastical mask was a very lucky find at Ben Franklin's, completing my costume perfectly.

I wish you all a very SPOOKTACULAR Halloween!

XOXO
