Flash back to the 50's: the modern woman, dripping in grace, and reflecting ultimate perfection from her bright smile to stunning figure. A vision of elegance, and true femininity-- she had the brawn to clean an entire house with her hair curled, lips plumped, and ankles straining in high heels. There's a lot of controversy with the new wave feminism movement, shaming these women and their "super-feminine" appearance and ways, and claiming that they were oppressed by the dominant males of society, forced into this mold of unattainable perfection.
But somehow, they did it. They made blueberry pies, cinched-in their waists, and cared for hoards of children while looking straight out of a magazine. Its unreal, its incredible-- showing constant discipline and determination; the likes of which you may never see today. Maybe the 1950s were an era of oppression and societal pressures, but I admire these women for becoming symbols of beauty and strength for a nation, and hope one day I have even half the womanly strength they had.
The women of the 50's were truly wonder women.

Inspired by the elegance of the 50's, I'm wearing a beautiful floral print dress that reminds me of my grandmother's impeccable taste. Made and designed by Amy, owner and head designer of Chic Flag designs, this dress is one of a kind, with a lovely sloping figure and perfectly flattering to the feminine form.
